Poetry
and the Process: Weaving Words to Touch Pain to Reach Heaven Life
is hard. Life is a gift. Poetry provides the manner to survive.
To thrive. A manner to be honest with your soul and your will. With
the universe. With your deity, your belief system. Vital. Significant. Real. These are the words that best describe how both reading and writing poetry can direct and inspire an individual, even one faced with the deepest of grief stemming from suffering, or from the simple and required act of making sense of what being alive means. Join
published Poet and Speaker, Margot Van Sluytman, in sharing how her
process of journeying with language and how it provides sustenance, equaling the
beauty and necessity of bread and water, permitting acceptance, transformation,
and head-on acknowledgement of creating beauty, out of what seems most harsh. In
her current work, Of Dark Night, she weaves words to
touch pain and reach heaven, and she will share with you the process of
accessing those vital words in order for you to do the same. You bring to the Group your self and your desire to share, to talk, to write. Margot will inspire you to create and to connect with what Martin Heidegger calls, 'our way of being in the world".
