Course Description and Objective:
Gardening
is a grand gift that we receive the opportunity of participating in each
Spring, Summer, Fall, and for those who cannot resist, the Winter. Writing
is much like digging in the earth, smelling good, rich soil of the
psyches voice and vision, planting new seeds of thought, watering
possibility, and anticipating rain and sunshine.
In
this workshop, you will dig with your own hands into the earthy roots
of your vital creative energy. You will discover new landscapes of
your voice which asks you to revisit writhing wetlands, powerful
mountain-tops, lush llanos of hope and possibility; plunging your little
trowels of imagination into the terrain, sprouting
new pieces of poetry and/or prose poetry, As
the buds begin to burst with green-glory, your words will shiver onto the
bare branches that are your blank pages, awaiting the scent and colour of
abundant nature via your pen. You
will read the works of Mary Oliver, Tracey Gainforth, William Shakespeare,
Genevieve Nolet, Emily Dickinson, David Whyte, misty santana, Rumi, Edna
Kovacs, Eric Ashford, Naga Moon Rai, Pablo Neruda, Brenda Peddigrew, in
order to enter the rich earth from which to unearth brilliant and inviting
inspiration to plant your seeds of fragrant language.
