I am proud to share with you what individuals have to say about their journey with me via their work with words - reading my books,  at my readings, in my courses, and upon the www.Dance-With-Words.com Web Site.
Sincerely,
Margot

Margot Van Sluytman writes with a verve and power about interior life of the soul through the lens of mystical tradition.

Reading Margot Van Sluytmans poetic words is like satisfying a craving. Vibrant in colour and texture she makes it easy to get swept up in the lines and upon the last leaves you wanting more.
William Byron Sheardown, Publisher of Quills Canadian Poetry Magazine

Margot Van Sluytman writes poetry teeming with the intensities and splendours of life and especially with the fearful and marvellous passions of love.  With rare vividness she invites her readers to share the daily epiphanies which lie all around and within us.
Professor Ian McDonald, University of Guyana and the West Indies, Poet

I really need to let you know I thought the course, Poetry and Healing: The Dance With Encounter was tremendous.  I finished it feeling that I had accomplished a personal journey, an awakening that I
had not experienced before.  Your course fulfilled a need in me that I hadn't
recognized. I now know the hole I always seemed to have in my centre will be
filled if I continue creating and writing poetry.

I have learned a few things during this course, Poetry From Soul Soul From Poetry.  One of the most important for me is not everything that I produce has to be what I choose to produce.  What comes from the heart is so diverse and it is ok to share those words without guilt...let the words come to me, don't chase them down.  I have also learned, that even though I may not like a particular poem, others may, and it needs to be shared regardless.  The message may be important -- IS important, and may inspire the reader to act upon it's message.

In studying the Writing and the Process: Out of Dark Night course taught by Margot Van Sluytman, my love for words has been inspired and renewed.  Not only have I become more passionate about the process of weaving words into an artistic meaning, but I have acquired better imagery.  Now, I can't stop writing.

The feedback I got from my friends about your visit was extremely positive.  They all loved you.  One said that this was the best experience we've had with a visiting writer. A lot of the writers we've had in the past didn't seem real to us, if that makes sense.  You taught us a lot. It was so wonderful.  I think you've brought new life into our group and our writing.
Paul Mallory, University of Michigan-Dearborn

Margot Van Sluytman's poems are positive and life-affirming: they challenge us with their rousing call to action.

I have Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and I have had it for many years.  What has happened in the last several weeks that has been an immense gift to me is that I begin each morning, after mostly sleepless nights, writing on www.Dance-With-Words.com . It is a healing space for me in this time of my life. I am extremely grateful for this outlet.

www.Dance-With-Words.com  has helped me to deal with my on going battle with Renal Cancer.  Time spent sharing my work and interacting on the list actually helps me to forget my troubles, and allows me to take pleasure in the free time I have to sit here and create.

I am a dancer. I am a dancer whose body is stilled by the deep, unforgiving vice of severe, unremitting chronic pain. I am a poet. A poet struggling not to go under the wave of resentment, gall and bitterness that constantly threatens to engulf me. I came to the site www.Dance-With-Words.com  because of the title. I stayed because I found myself expanding, widening, reaching out; I found myself full of image, ideas and visions; ideas and visions which were salty, rich, sweet, fresh, but totally lacking in bitterness. Margot brings to this place a magnificent combination of enthusiasm, perception, talent and professionalism without the arrogance that often accompanies it. She has a deep, intense love for the work and an unusual ability to share that love in a way that is entirely infectious. Margot has created a real place in space that is full of scholarship, questioning, words, images, memories, possibilities, metaphor and dreams. Perhaps the most powerful thing of all  about www.Dance-With-Words.com  is that it is safe. Writers who come here know that they may share their innermost selves - their writing - without fear; for they know that what they share will be noticed, accepted, encouraged, nurtured, honored. I am a poet. I come here to learn, I come here for peace, I come here to share, I come here for beauty and clear quite joy . . . I come here to dance.
